Since I was exploring themes of love and life, I’ve decided to just put together some personal reflections to hopefully just to soothe your mind.
This first short piece of writing explores the insecurities we feel when we grow. A feeling that one would have to experience and battle through to finally reach the state of self-love and in order to love someone else.
People always say that if you ever like someone, you should tell them. Even if you are scared of feeling rejected, even if you are afraid of what's to come, you should always tell what you feel because, maybe, tomorrow it will be too late. Too late to tell them, too late to face the consequences, too late to feel.
So tell me, darling...why can't we say what we feel? Why does our heart beat race so fast and we can't think of anything else? Why can't we speak what's on our minds? In our hearts?
We aren't scared of rejection. We aren't scared of the consequences. We aren't scared of what people would think. We are scared of our own feelings.
When we fall in love with someone, we think so highly of that person. We venerate them. Everything they do wrong, it's right because we need to feel close to that person. We don't want to upset them, to hurt them. But, who stops us from being the one who's hurt? Nobody, because that's how life works.
We love the ones that we think they're perfect for us and we don't let anyone else come between this. We hurt each other in the infinite marathon after our "true love". That's not how it should be.
If you have feelings for someone, don't chase them like they're your prey. Just tell them. Close your eyes and say it out loud. You're gonna fight your own feelings.
Don't overthink it. It's better to be told straight that they're not for you, than to give yourself false hopes that your crush might be into you if you will wait long enough for them to figure out what an amazing person you are. Think twice. You don't have enough time in the universe to stick around for someone that doesn't know if they want you or not.
So, tell your crush how you feel today. If you're rejected, you're gonna be fine. Remember to breathe, cause it might hurt a little. But, at the end of the day, remember that you're human and you can't be blamed on what you feel or how you feel.
Feel today. Feel tomorrow. Feel now.
This second piece is a poem that explores how any one aspect about a person can affect you greatly. Due to feelings…
Those are flowers
that are growing inside me
when i hear your name.
Those are butterflies
that are flying
when you smile at me.
Those are waves
that are crashing
when you're touching me.
Those are a hundred stars
that are shining
when you look at me.
Those are oceans
that are flooding
when you cry.
Those are earthquakes
that are shaking
when you shout.
Those are the continents
that are speechless
when they heard your words.
This is me
standing silent and still
cause you're making me feel
feelings.
